One of the owners, Charlotte Davies had spent the last few years raising a family, but wanted a career that allowed her to provide for her three children. After contacting the Want 2 Work scheme, she was placed with Beauty Spot in New Inn to train and become a fully qualified beauty therapist.
But it was a manicure that led to a business idea and a partnership between Charlotte and one of her first clients, Keren Gregory. Keren was a fully qualified hairdresser who had been made redundant 6 months previous, and was working as a mobile hairdresser for family and friends, due to not being able to find a permanent position.
After forming the business idea, Charlotte and Keren sought business advice from The Centre for Business in New Inn which offers free business advice and support for budding entrepreneurs. Charlotte said "we were looking for advice on all aspects of running the business, from rental contracts on property, to business plans and Tim has been fantastic in helping us with everything”.
Visitors to the newly opened Lush Salon will enjoy state-of-the-art hairdressing facilities, and dedicated treatments offering all the options clients would expect, including waxing, facials, manicures, pedicures, spray-tanning, massage, wedding packages and pamper parties. Charlotte is well placed to pamper clients in the beauty area, while Keren is a highly qualified hairdresser. The creation of the new salon has been a real family affair, with friends and family helping to decorate, along with leaflet drop in the area. The beautiful pink and black haven of tranquillity is well located and has free parking right outside.
